A Mentoring Circle consists of not less than ten and not more than thirteen qualified applicants. We prefer that participants will not have to drive more than 2 -3 hours to meetings.
If you want to apply to be part of a Mentoring Circle, your next steps are: 1. Prepare a complete resume, including references. 2. Respond to the following questions on separate paper. 3. Submit a copy to the point person who recruited you (preferably as a Word document in an email attachment).
When the point person has a minimum of 10 applications, he/she will forward them to us at Hope Network and we will schedule an organizational meeting in your area – for only the cost of airfare, instead of the usual fee. Once we have received your documents and a mentoring circle forms in your area of the country, you will be considered to be a part of a circle.
Your Story • Describe how you came to Christ. (One page) • What congregations have you been part of since you became a Christian? • Currently, what is your home church? • In what ministry are you currently involved either as a volunteer or as a paid staff minister? • Write a page on your philosophy of ministry. • If money were no object, what would you do with the next ten years of your life?
Strengths and Weaknesses • What do you consider to be your strongest area of giftedness? • In what areas do you feel least gifted? • For what kind of ministry do you feel the strongest sense of calling and passion? • Which of your ministry skills are most fully developed? • What ministry skills do you feel most need to improve?
Influences • What Christian leaders have influenced you the most? • What ministers do you most admire?
Mentoring through Hope Network Ministries • How did you learn about Hope Network and this mentoring program? • How much time are you willing to commit to a mentoring group? 1 full (8 – 10 hours) day a month across a year? (minimum 9 meetings) 2 full (8 – 10 hours) day every second month for a year? Other? • In what ways would you hope to benefit from participation in a mentoring circle?
