Mentoring Articles by Lynn Anderson Mentoring Program Explained Mentoring Group Application
CONCEPTUAL MODEL: Jesus, the master teacher, modeled for us an effective ministry style, and an effective plan for ministry training – recruit twelve, graduate eleven, focus on three. Hope Network Ministries attempts to follow the master’s model in ministry. A variety of coaching opportunities is available for ministers and church leaders. These opportunities are offered on a graduated scale with some levels more intensive than others. In order to ensure quality coaching, a limited number of ministers and churches can be served each year.
SUGGESTED CONTENT AREAS: Spiritual Energy: Deepening the reflectiveness and prayer life of spiritual leaders. Attention is focused on forming accountability/nurturing resources and prayer teams. It is about skills and practices, not merely about ideas.
Interpersonal and Leadership Skills: Sharpening people skills by implementing those of Jesus. Emphasis is placed on learning the difference between managing or administering and leadership as described in the Bible. Action plans included.
Shepherding, Equipping and Transitioning: Implementing mentoring skills. Developing systems for leading people from the street to spiritual maturity. Helping Christians find their gifts and equipping them to serve God, His church and community with those gifts.
Organizational Streamlining: Practical skills to move a church from institution to organism. Learn how to gently retire cumbersome bureaucracy and develop trim functionality.
